He said that the border post was the busiest among the country's 72 land ports, as it processed 28 000 people in one day. He added that the total number of people who used the Lebombo border post was around 350 000.
Dr. Masiapato also reported that the Beit Bridge border post, which connects South Africa and Zimbabwe, was the second busiest land port, with around 300 000 people crossing it. He said that the average daily number of people at Beit Bridge was around 17 000.
He further said that the OR Tambo International Airport was the top port for air travel, with over 400 000 people passing through it. He said that everything was going according to plan and that the operations were in full swing to manage the movement of people and goods across the country's ports of entry.
