The bail hearing of a South African (SA) police captain accused of raping a female trainee is expected to resume in the capital of Pretoria Magistrate's Court on Thursday

The police instructor allegedly raped the 20-year-old police trainee in his office at the Training Academy in Pretoria West, in March this year.

“IPID confirms that the police captain was charged for another case of sexual assault after a second victim came forward alleging that she was allegedly assaulted by the captain on March 17 this year. The captain appeared at the Pretoria Magistatre’s Court last Friday, facing charges of rape and sexual assault, where the case was postponed to May 29 for the continuation of the bail application,” Shuping said.
