New ANC Youth League leaders vow to boost party's in SA 2024 elections

Date: Jul 3, 2023

The newly-elected leaders of South Africa's ruling ANC Youth League have pledged to work hard to improve the governing party's chances of winning the 2024 elections.

The league held its 26th national congress at the Nasrec expo centre south of Johannesburg over the weekend, where it elected Collen Malatjie as its President.

He is joined by Phumzile Mgcina as the deputy President, Mntuwoxolo Ngudle as the Secretary General, Tsakani Shiviti as the deputy Secretary-General, Zwelo Masilela as the Treasurer-General and Olga Seate as the second deputy-Secretary Heneral.

The congress was attended by President Cyril Ramaphosa, who urged the youth leaders to play an active role in educating voters and mobilizing support for the ANC.

The youth league is seen as a crucial structure for the party, which has faced declining support in recent elections.
