This follows reports that some ANC Members of Paliiament expressed their frustration at the ANC’s National Executive Committee's failure to decide on the DA’s participation in the Government of National Unity (GNU).
The ANC members raised their dissatisfaction at the opposition party’s recent court challenge of the Employment Equity Amendment Act.
Speaking to the media on the side-lines of a by-election campaign at Freedom Park in Soweto, Gauteng on Sunday, ANC Secretary-General, Fikile Mbalula, says the conduct of some party member’s borders on ill-discipline
Mbalula says, "Members of the ANC must be disciplined. They must respect their own party. Leaking information to the media is detrimental to the cohesion of our movement, because that leakage is a distortion, and I’ve said to the media that there is no caucus of the ANC that can revolt against the ANC."
He adds, "There is no caucus of the ANC that can rebel against the ANC. People have got a choice to join other political parties; those members of the caucus have been disciplined. They took an order from their party. They’ve raised their views and we respect their views. Even if it is decent and I will report to the officials on Monday and I will raise it with the National Working Committee about some of the issues raised."
