This warning comes amid rumours that an African National Congress (ANC) faction is exerting pressure on President Ramaphosa to remove Basic Education Minister Siviwe Gwarube from her post.

The DA's National Spokesperson, Willie Aucamp, has emphasized the delicate nature of the coalition government, stating that any dismissal of DA-affiliated ministers could lead to the dissolution of the GNU.

Aucamp highlighted the importance of the memorandum of understanding signed between the parties and reminded Ramaphosa that the ANC no longer holds a majority, implying that such actions could have significant political repercussions.
