Mabaso and acting mayor spearheaded a raid on the hijacked buildings earlier this week.

The illegal occupants of the abandoned buildings live in unsafe condition and criminal activities are rife.

Mabaso says some SA citizens are colluding with the hijackers of the buildings.

"Some of our officials in the municipality and in other departments they are also involved. We were informed when we visited one of the properties that officials from the Department of Labour they collect money from the owners of these companies.

Members of the SA Police Service they are also collecting money, our officials, especially those that are working within the Department that is responsible for the electrification in Johannesburg."
