This is set to happen ahead of her budget vote in the National Council of Provinces.
The move marks an escalation in the DA’s efforts to confront corruption allegations within the ruling African National Congress (ANC). The DA has criticised President Cyril Ramaphosa for not taking decisive action against Ministers accused of misconduct.
Over the weekend, the DA issued a 48-hour ultimatum to Ramaphosa, demanding the removal of Minister Nkabane, Human Settlements Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi, and Deputy Minister of Water and Sanitation David Mahlobo. This followed the dismissal of Deputy Trade, Industry and Competition Minister Andrew Whitfield.
With the deadline passed and no dismissals made, the DA declared it will withdraw support for the budget votes of these ministries. The party also confirmed its decision to pull out of the upcoming National Dialogue on coalition governments scheduled for August, citing concerns over governance standards.
