Deputy National Police Commissioner for Crime Prevention, Shadrack Sibiya, praised the role of Interpol in addressing transnational crimes during his address at the Inaugural 2025 SA National Policing Summit in Johannesburg.
Sibiya highlighted the importance of mutual legal assistance and cooperative efforts across African nations, stating, "Working with Interpol and the National Prosecuting Authority in terms of mutual legal assistance and working with our counterparts in the whole of Africa and Southern African region, we are winning the fight because even when you go to Mozambique, we know where our vehicles are and there's mutual legal assistance that is taking place in dealing with how we repatriate our vehicles back into the country. We go into Malawi, we know how many cars we have in Malawi and that are being repatriated back into the country."
