Once again using the assertion to justify an Executive Order that grants expedited citizenship to White Afrikaners who claim discrimination.
Trump made the comments while responding to a question about why 49 Afrikaners have been allowed entry into the US despite broader restrictions halting refugee admissions from war-torn nations such as Sudan and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
“Because they’re being killed. And we don’t want to see people be killed,” Trump stated. He further claimed that SA leadership was scheduled to meet with him next week and suggested that the upcoming G20 meeting could be impacted by what he described as a “genocide.”
“It’s a genocide that’s taking place that you people don’t want to write about. But it’s a terrible thing that’s taking place. Farmers are being killed. They happen to be white, but whether they’re white or black makes no difference. But white farmers are being brutally killed and their land is being confiscated in SA,” Trump said.
