The Umbrella for Democratic Change’s Duma Boko’s inauguration will be witnessed by various Heads of State and government officials, including from the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region.

The inauguration is taking place at the country’s national stadium in the capital, Gaborone.

The number of people expected to attend the inauguration necessitated a venue change to the stadium, instead of Parliament buildings, where previous inaugurations have previously taken place.

Boko has said the event was not for him, but actually for the people.

Today has been declared a public holiday in Botswana.
