Kenya's Police Chief suspended over blogger’s death

Kenya's Police Chief has suspended the Head of a Homa Bay police station and all officers on duty after the death of Albert Ojwang, a teacher and blogger.

Ojwang was arrested for allegedly publishing false information online.

Ojwang, was transferred 350 kilometres to Nairobi, where police say he sustained head injuries after hitting a cell wall.

He was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.

Amnesty International Kenya has called the incident "very suspicious" and is demanding an urgent, independent investigation.
