Kagame is running for a fourth term in these elections. Rwandans continue to line up at polling stations across the country to elect their next president. Polling stations are expected to close at 3 o'clock this afternoon local time.
Channel Africa's Michael Mbewe is at SOS children's school polling station, “We just witnessed the Incumbent President casting his vote here at SOS children polling station.
“The mood is good, everything has been going very smoothly. You would admire how these elections were organised. People came in their numbers from 07h00 (CAT) when the polling stations were opened. You would admire the kind of discipline the Rwandese are displaying here.
“There is no fracas we have not witnessed any signs of violence. Everything is just smooth.”
