SA’s Nelson Mandela University to celebrate Africa month

The South African (SA) Nelson Mandela University in Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape Province is celebrating Africa month with a series of lectures and cultural exhibitions.

May the 25th is Africa day, which is celebrated annually. It is a celebration of the transition from the Organisation of African Unity to the African Union (AU). 

Keynote Speaker at the opening ceremony for the week-long programme is SA Human Rights Commissioner is Professor Tshepo Madlingozi.

"The fact of the matter is that in SA we have not done the work of reparations. We haven't colleagues. The AU talks about a framework of reparations. 

Let's start with their definition of reparation and I will quote from the concept notes of this field, reparation must be adequate, must be effective, must be prompt and should be proportional to the gravity of the violation."
