Date: Jun 19, 2025

The Western Cape High Court, in South Africa (SA), is expected to hand down sentences to four men who were found guilty of murdering a disabled woman for life insurance money

The 23-year-old woman was gunned down three years ago.

One of the men, her stepfather, has been convicted of hiring Mboneleli Msila, Mbulelo Jack, Monde Tshemese and Lungisile Lucas on conspiracy to commit murder, premeditated murder and two counts of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.

Provincial National Prosecuting Authority Spokesperson, Eric Ntabazalila, says three funeral policies were taken out, with a combined value of $33 000. The state is calling for life imprisonment to be imposed.
