Mogotsi says the intended meeting wover the task team investigating political killings in the KwaZulu Natal (KZN) province. Mogotsi is at the centre of KZN Police Commissioner, Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi's allegations that senior police officials including Mchunu are corrupt and have links to criminal syndicates and interfere in police operations. In an exclusive interview with SABC News, Mogotsi said Matlala complained that the task team was harassing him.
" Matlala said it was actually a problem within the police and that the task team was harassing him. He wished he could have a word with the Minister and and tell him his frustrations but they did not meet. Most importantly, the businessperson is still a citizen. He has a right and can still ask to meet the President. The businessperson will still say, let me meet with whoever, but the crux of the matter is whether that particular politician or the one in authority, like the Minister has agreed to meet with them or not," Mogotsi said.
