Addressing journalists at a media briefing in Pretoria, Masiapato reflected on the agency’s operations over the Easter holiday, a traditionally busy period for cross-border movement. He outlined both the gains made in tightening border security and the persistent challenges facing the authority.
Despite ramped-up enforcement efforts, he noted that the same countries continued to dominate the list of offenders. “Even in this 2025 Easter period, a consistent pattern of top three nationalities which continue to undermine our immigration laws remains the Zimbabweans at 2 019, followed by Basotho’s at 1 921 and then followed by Mozambicans at 1 143, and the remainder of 1 170 were shared amongst the Swati’s and other nationalities,” said Masiapato.
