“Cause of unrest, instability in Liberia a result of frustration among youths”

Retired Liberian national Defence Minister Brigadier General Geraldine Janet George says the cause of unrest and instability in the country is a result of frustration among youths.

She says it's entirely domestic and that no foreign elements are involved.  The former Army General was in South Africa to attend to the inaugural Thabo Mbeki Foundation annual African Peace and Security Dialogue held in Johannesburg over the weekend. 

George spoke about the impact arising from the nations that walked out of Economic Community of West African States.  She dismissed the idea of establishing one African Army with one central command citing leadership conflict, “To be honest with you, we have not had the experience of any insurgent or terrorist in nativities. Our issues we have is the issue of fouling, the issue of drugs, the issue of corruption, the issue of crimes within the country. We have not seen anything from our neighbouring country. In 1999, the son of the Cubist youth group feel that they have been disenchanted. They vote for particular political parties in the expect to get jobs.
