Protests in the country are currently underway, where at least 30 people have been killed.
The Heads of State Summit, set to take place from November 16-20, will discuss the current tensions in Mozambique.
“It’s important that before the Harare Summit, SADC deploys an envoy to Mozambique to engage in an inclusive consultation, to have a report that will address the situation. That report will be the basis of discussion in Harare. It is not right to go to Harare based on the information only from what my president will say,” says Nuvunga.
Meanwhile, the Border Management Authority has issued a warning to South Africans to avoid travelling to Mozambique due to the current volatile situation in the country.
