SA’s youth unemployment crisis finds a ray of hope in Concentrix’s skills programmes

Date: Jul 3, 2025

Youth unemployment in South Africa (SA) remains alarmingly high, with over 60% of those aged 15 to 24 out of work. Despite these tough numbers, there’s a positive story unfolding in the private sector.

Concentrix SA is stepping up with skills development and leadership initiatives aimed at helping young people, especially from disadvantaged communities, unlock their potential and find meaningful employment.

Jason Lock, Director at Concentrix SA, shared his thoughts on the company’s efforts. “SA’s youth have incredible potential,” he said. “At Concentrix, we focus on creating opportunities and breaking down the barriers that many young people face.”

He emphasised that their programmes not only benefit the individuals involved but also contribute to broader positive outcomes for the country.
