During his visit, he engaged in discussions with Botswana’s Minister of Investment, Trade, and Industry, Bogolo Kenewendo, focusing on potential collaborations in electricity generation, supply, and interconnectivity.
The visit comes at a time when both countries are seeking to enhance energy security and efficiency through regional cooperation. Tsakane Khambane, Head of Communications and Stakeholder Relations at SA’s Ministry of Energy and Electricity, emphasised the significance of the discussions.
“This visit aims to strengthen the two nations’ strategic partnership in the energy and electricity sectors. The Ministers had the opportunity to discuss potential collaborations on new electricity generation and supply, enhancing interconnectivity, and aligning policies to improve efficiency and synergy in our energy systems,” Khambane stated.
