The prestigious event, held at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre, concludes on Thursday after bringing together industry leaders, international buyers, and stakeholders from across the tourism sector.
Head of Durban Tourism, Winile Mntungwa, highlighted the significance of the indaba in strengthening Durban’s global appeal and fostering partnerships that will boost the local economy.
“The indaba provides a unique platform for showcasing our tourism attractions while creating connections with international buyers. Our goal is to secure meaningful partnerships that will elevate Durban’s position as a leading African travel destination,” Mntungwa said.
Beyond the exhibition floor, Durban has ensured that visitors experience its diverse attractions firsthand. Mntungwa explained that hosted tours were arranged throughout the event to immerse participants in the city’s offerings beyond brochures and virtual presentations.
“Over and above the business of the day, we take delegates to various attractions in Durban to provide them with first-hand experiences. This has been a crucial part of the indaba, and we have successfully hosted pre- and post-event tours. Tonight, we are continuing with more, extending into the post-indaba period until Sunday,” she added.
