The authorities focused their efforts on businesses that were found to be in violation of legal requirements.
Reports indicate that 12 of the foreign nationals were discovered working without the necessary documentation. A further eight were apprehended in a separate action for the same reason.
Law enforcement officials have urged business owners across the region to ensure full compliance with employment laws, particularly concerning the documentation of their workforce. Rebone Molapo, Spokesperson for the Tshwane Metropolitan Police Department (TMPD), stated; “All business owners and employers are encouraged to comply and uphold the law when operating their businesses. TMPD officers will continue to enforce the by-laws in order to make sure that all businesses are compliant,” Molapo affirmed.
