The group, which advocates for the rights of local truck drivers, had announced plans for a nationwide strike this week.

The strike was to address long-standing grievances regarding the employment of foreign nationals in the logistics sector and the non-compliance with minimum wage policies by some employers.

Despite initial disruptions, including a blockade at Harrismith in the Free State, swift action by law enforcement has restored normal traffic flow.

Collin Govender, Spokesperson for the KwaZulu-Natal Road Traffic Chief Inspectorate, stated, "The situation on the N3 corridor and other provincial roads is under control. Although there was an incident this morning with trucks obstructing the N3 at Harrismith, police intervention has facilitated the resumption of unhindered traffic."
