Both grades of petrol will decrease by 22 cents per litre, and diesel will decrease by 41 and 42 cents per litre.
The Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources says the adjustments are due to a lower oil price and a weaker rand.
Department Spokesperson, Robert Maake, says that only LP gas will see a slight increase in price.
“The following fuel prices will be effective on Wednesday, May 7, 2025. Both grades of petrol will decrease by 22 cents per litre, diesel will decrease by 41 and 42 cents per litre, and illuminating paraffin at retail level will decrease by 41 cents per litre. However, the price of LP gas will increase by 46 cents per kilogram. The LPG gas price is increasing due to the higher freight rate or shipping cost during the same period,” says Maake.
