China, Zambia to increase local currency use in trade

Date: Sep 17, 2023

In a bid to lower the costs and risks of currency exchange, China and Zambia have agreed to increase the use of their local currencies in trade and investment transactions.

This was announced in a joint statement on Friday, following a meeting between the leaders of the two countries. The statement, which was published by China's state media, said that the move will benefit the businesses of both sides and enhance their economic ties.

The two countries also pledged to cooperate more in the field of mineral exploration and to conduct high-level military exchanges.
