O.R. Tambo International resumes normal operations after fuel system malfunction

Date: Dec 10, 2024

Johannesburg's O.R. Tambo International Airport has announced the full restoration of its fuel system operations.

Following a period of disruption that led to several flight delays, fuel trucks have now been dispatched to the apron, and normal service activities have resumed.

Airport authorities extend their apologies for any inconvenience caused to passengers and thank them for their patience during the resolution of the refuelling challenges.

The airport had earlier advised passengers of potential delays due to difficulties in the refuelling process. The technical issues prevented airlines from refuelling aircraft in the usual manner, prompting a swift response from the airport's technical team.

Passengers affected by the delays were advised to contact their airlines for assistance and were offered the option to receive live flight notifications through the ACSA Mobile App.

The airport's management has expressed gratitude for the understanding shown by travellers and assures that they will continue to provide updates. They also reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring the highest standards of service and passenger care.
