The strike, organised by the Association of United and Solidarity Health Professionals of Mozambique (APSUSM), will see workers limiting their hours to eight per day and suspending weekend shifts.
The APSUSM has been vocal about the challenges facing the healthcare sector, including the lack of essential medicines in hospitals, insufficient food for patients, and the absence of emergency materials and non-displaceable personal equipment in ambulances.
The association has also called for fair overtime pay and improvements to the framework within the Single Salary Table.
