Amidst these trials, the cost of living has surged, with food inflation reaching a staggering 14.7%.

"The rocketing prices of food have brought about a tangible suffering for the people of Malawi," states Chifi Mhango, Chief Economist and Director of Economic Research and Strategy at the Don Consultancy Group.
