Johannesburg Glamping Expo wraps puts innovation, luxury in the spotlight

Date: Jun 23, 2025

The two-day Glamping Expo concluded on a high note in Johannesburg, South Africa (SA), over the weekend, drawing glamping companies and enthusiasts from across the country to explore the latest in luxurious camping experiences.

The event offered a unique platform for businesses in the glamping value chain to exhibit their products, connect with industry peers, and attract potential collaborators and investors.

Glamping, a blend of glamour and camping, is fast gaining popularity among travellers who seek the serenity of nature without sacrificing the comforts of high-end accommodation.

From luxury tents fitted with hotel-style amenities to eco-friendly lighting, designer fragrances to enhance tent interiors, and bespoke travel agents to curate tailored outdoor getaways, the expo was a showcase of opulence in the wilderness.

One of the standout participants was Tladi Travel Agency, an SA-based company established in 2011. Representing both domestic and international travel markets, the agency caters to a range of travellers, from luxury seekers to budget-conscious adventurers. As an exhibitor, Tladi Travel highlighted its role in simplifying and personalising glamping journeys for clients.

The expo’s focus extended beyond consumer comfort, with an emphasis on sustainability and innovation. Participants showcased eco-conscious designs and renewable solutions to ensure that glamping leaves a minimal environmental footprint.

With growing interest in nature-based tourism and off-the-grid experiences, the glamping industry in SA continues to evolve. This year’s expo affirmed the sector’s rising relevance in the country’s tourism landscape, as well as its potential to attract global visitors looking for a luxury escape into nature.

Organisers say the success of this year’s event has set the tone for future expos, with plans already underway to expand participation and introduce more immersive experiences at the next edition.
