Date: Feb 28, 2024

E-mobility will take centre stage at the upcoming Africa Energy Indaba, set to be held in Cape Town, South Africa next week.

The event will showcase the continent's growing embrace of electric vehicles, encompassing two-wheelers, three-wheelers, passenger cars, and even buses.

Ndia Magadagela, Co-Founder of Everlectric, a South African company, highlights the significant progress Africa has made in e-mobility development.

Countries like Uganda and Kenya are already seeing the deployment of electric two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and even buses. South Africa is also witnessing a rise in electric delivery vehicles and even two-wheeled electric buses, indicating a rapidly growing segment within the transportation sector.

Magadagela emphasises the importance of the upcoming Indaba as a platform for dialogue and collaboration regarding e-mobility in Africa. This event presents a crucial opportunity to discuss the challenges and opportunities surrounding electric vehicle adoption across the continent.
