Analysts say the Shilling has been supported by strong foreign exchange reserves held by the Central Bank of Kenya.
They also note that the Tanzanian Shilling, which had previously been one of the world's worst-performing currencies in 2025, has rebounded strongly in June after the Tanzanian government banned the use of foreign currencies, including the US Dollar, in local transactions to stabilise the Tanzanian Shilling and reduce dollarisation of the economy.
