The payment of around $10 000 grant beneficiaries in KwaZulu-Natal Province might be delayed in June due to their failure to disclose their other sources of income.
SASSA says it has identified 210 000 people who have not disclosed nationally.
The identification follows SASSA's collaboration with registered credit bureaux.
The Social Assistance Act stipulates that beneficiaries are legally required to fully disclose all sources of income during their initial application.
SASSA's Provincial Head Thamo Mzobe explains what happens to fraudulent grant claimants.
"So if you have been found to have breached the Social Assistance Act then you are liable for fraud. So it means you have misrepresented yourself one. SASSA has no tolerance for fraud and we apply zero tolerance to fraud.
Those who are cleared will have a second run in on June 13, so if you come to us after the delay, you will explain yourself and be cleared and get your money."
