African currencies weaken against Dollar as commodity prices hold steady

Currencies across several African countries are continuing to weaken against the United States (US) Dollar, reflecting ongoing global economic pressures and shifting market dynamics.

In Southern Africa, the Dollar is currently trading at 17.86 South African Rand, 13.25 Botswana Pula, 17.86 Namibian Dollars, and 23.06 Zambian Kwacha.

Across East Africa, the Dollar stands at 128.58 Kenyan Shillings, 137.25 Ethiopian Birr, 3 565 Ugandan Shillings, and 2 600 Tanzanian Shillings.

In West Africa, Nigeria’s currency continues to slide, with the Dollar fetching 1,529 Naira.

In North Africa, the Dollar is valued at 49.40 Egyptian Pounds, 2.90 Tunisian Dinar, 129.39 Algerian Dinar, and 8.93 Moroccan Dirham.

Meanwhile, in Central Africa, the Dollar is exchanging at 912 Angolan Kwanza and 2 866 Congolese Franc.

On the commodities market, gold is trading at 3 324 US Dollars per ounce, while platinum stands at 1 381 Dollars per ounce. Brent crude oil is priced at 68.13 Dollars per barrel.
