What was supposed to be treasured memories of hugs with friends and family members has been turned into nothing near normal by the social distancing imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The SABC's role in exploiting potential brought by virtual space attempts to restore moments that have been stolen away by the global pandemic into treasured memories. The SABC  has partnered with the University of KwaZulu-Natal to broadcast the virtual graduation ceremony live on SABC 3, DSTV Channel 193 on Friday, the 29 May 2020. For the SABC, this is a first virtual broadcast of a graduation ceremony. The public broadcaster's partnership with UKZN serves to honour the Graduating Class of 2020's academic achievements while providing the graduands and their loved ones with a graduation experience. Unconventional as it may, what a privilege it is for the graduands to know that the nation is also cheering them on as your SABC brings it live to your screens!
