This follows an escalation of hostilities in the Middle East in recent days. The Palestine Solidarity Campaign in Cape Town is planning a mass march to parliament this Saturday to call for sanctions against Israel.

“The march on Saturday repeats false claims of genocide but the international court of justice has not yet heard the substantive case of genocide against the Israeli people. The United States and Germany have stated that they do not see evidence of genocide against the Palestinians. It is not Israel committing genocide even if it is facing threats to its very existence,” said Federation Spokesperson, Rolene Marks.
